Jon Fritsch Resume and Bio
Photography:
I shoot 35mm, 4×5 View, and Holga cameras. I print exclusively with 44″ wide-format digital printers, although I was raised printing b&w in the darkroom. I use a variety of computer hardware (Mac/Linux/Win) and software to produce online photography exhibits and fine art prints such as Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Flash.
Writing:
You can read a selection of my published magazine features, news, and essays on this site. My writing experience isn’t limited to popular magazines, though. I regularly write health and science related educational documents for the general public.
Teaching:
I have taught lecture seminars with four hundred students, small ten student workshops, and traveling field classes. The photography/photojournalism classes I teach are profiled on this site. You can read what students have to say about my teaching ability here. My fondness for thinking across disciplines has resulted in curriculums that challenge my students to think creatively and analytically. My seminar class on the global AIDS crisis and global landmine problem is one example of this. I pride myself on the fact that my teaching style pushes my students to think critically, but remains encouraging enough to make them want to do so.
